Purpose of Role:

Assistant Vice President (AVP) Securities Finance Product Development is a function responsible for the governance and management of the State Street platform used daily by the Firms hedge fund clients and by our Agency Lending business. Through a constant feedback process with clients, third party service providers, vendors and internal client-facing teams, we are responsible for defining strategy and setting the continued development of the Securities Finance platforms.

The securities finance platform comprises a client facing offering and internal platforms dealing with full trade lifecycle management and collateral. The role will be analytical in nature with a high degree of problem solving. With such competing demands on State Street resources the ability to think commercially on different opportunities and offer insights into cost benefit will be crucial

Major Responsibilities:

Role specifics

The role will include working with all facets of the Securities Finance front, middle and back office teams to:



  • Defining key business requirements and process flows;


  • Mapping existing business processes and data flows and designing new one;


  • Support business teams with day to day client solutions;


  • Rolling-out new developments to clients. 


  1. Develop and support the buildout of the new operating platform initially supporting the front office trading.


  2. Help drive forwards and complete product approvals to allow client activity to be executed on the Securities Finance platform.


  3. Support and develop the expansion of collateral types for the Enhanced Custody and Agency Lending business. This will cover the build out of tri-party capabilities, expanding the different types of collateral and


  4. Develop and improve the trading process and analytics for the Agency Lending program. Working closely with trading and middle office to establish automation and cleaner analytics.


  5. Participate and contribute to the implementation of new regulation impacting securities finance.

Level of Education / Qualifications:



  • Degree Level

Skills and Experience:



  • Project or product management experience would be preferable.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills


  • Ability to interact professionally with both business and technical teams


  • Creative and willing to challenge current paradigms; comfortable with ambiguity and able to make decisions with imperfect information


  • Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint experience preferable.


  • Knowledge of Money Market funds and collateral would be advantageous.
