Elysian Systems seeks an experienced Business Analyst to join the CME Elysian team. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in analyzing and capturing requirements within a structured software development environment. The candidate will have captured/defined requirements for high-performance applications , complex enterprise systems in spot and derivative OTC financial and/or  commodities markets

Key duties will include:

  • Perform analysis and  research of complex business processes, practices and problems
  • Review new feature requests to determine system impact and consistency  
  • Initiate and lead requirements gathering discussions, workshops with both internal and external clients, users and stakeholders
  • Write agile stories, acceptance criteria and other requirements documentation in collaboration with developers, quality assurance, product management, clients, users and stakeholders
  • Provide clarifications between clients and Engineering, inc. resolving conflicts
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills- ability to identify and clearly document issues
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to work with minimal guidance
  • Logical problem solving

Required skills and experience will include:

  • OTC derivatives product knowledge, including market microstructure, pre- and post-trade processes, settlements and delivery
  • Futures and Swaps clearing knowledge
  • Counterparty Credit Risk and Bilateral Credit
  • Requirements gathering, analysis and management gained in a complex software environment
  • Providing regular status updates both internally and externally
  • Experience creating UI wireframes
  • Understanding of industry-standard methodologies (e.g. Agile, Kanban)
  • Ability to perform software product evaluation / gap analysis

Beneficial skills and experience may include:

  • Physical, cash markets knowledge: trading, hedging, scheduling, nominations, logistics (Ags, Energy, Metals)
  • Risk management, options pricing
  • Expertise in development / requirement methodologies (e.g. RUP, Waterfall, Agile, P2)
  • Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, Visio, Balsamiq or similar tools
  • Worked within a commercial software product company
