The role:
Timely production of concise and comprehensive country reports.
Process credit applications in a timely manner and manage workflow so as to ensure deadlines are met.
Monitor developments on a country by country basis, identifying major risk factors and investigating any adverse trends that may affect existing clients or the quality of the book.
To provide analysis of the sovereign risk (economic risk, political risk and financial stability) of countries in which the Bank operates
Prepare Country Reports and recommendations to Management on exposure and lending strategy.
Initiate and/or undertake projects that will contribute to improved risk assessment of emerging countries.
Conduct credit reviews and assess internal ratings on Government / Sovereign and Municipal entities on a regular as well as on adhoc basis.
Effectively liaise with, and provide guidance to the business and other departments within the Bank on credit and emerging market country risk related matters including responding to credit opinion requests.
Candidates will have:
Good credit analysis and research skills
Experience of analysing emerging market Sovereigns
The ability to assimilate and interpret macro-economic data and trends
An understanding of the application of Economic trends and theories to the Banking industry
Strong oral and written communication skills
An understanding of Rating Agency methodologies
