Senior Data Engineer (SW Development / Data Scientist hybrid) - VP

As an experienced Software Data Engineer, your mission is to help lead our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming will help your team raise their game, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements. Your expertise in various technology domains will be counted on to set strategic direction and solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. Your quest to embracing leading-edge technologies and methodologies inspires your team to follow suit. And best of all, you'll be able to harness massive amounts of brainpower through our global network of technologists from around the world.
We want to you to at least know:
•Solid background or rich experience around Data Engineering, Distributed Systems, High Performance computing, and/or Statistics.
•Knowledge of an OO programming language (Java, C++)
•Knowledge of a scripting programming language (Python, Unix Shell scripts)
•2+ years designing and developing software with a proven track record on SDLC work and best development practices.
•Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
•Strong knowledge on SQL.

Ideally you would know additionally:
•Deep knowledge of infrastructure system, database and query optimization.
• Knowledge of Scala and Spark for Distributed system processing.
•Strong knowledge on Scheduling (Luigi, Airflow, etc.)
• Experience building fully automated end to end data science solution pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of alternative databases (Impala, HBase, MongoDB, etc.)
•5+ years designing and developing software with a proven track record on SDLC work and best development practices.
•2+ years designing developing software and deploying data intensive applications that involve distributed computing.
•Strong Adaptability to the Agile framework for product development.
