Job Summary                        

An experienced senior network engineer is desired in our Network and Security Services team with complimentary skills to support our data center, cloud, and global network. Candidates will possess expertise in designing and managing complex network and security infrastructure in enterprise networks with central and remote locations. Candidate should be experienced in advanced network deployment and support in a multi-vendor environment.

Extremely strong troubleshooting skills, a passion for learning new technologies, and the ability to manage many deployments at the same time will form the foundation for long-lasting success in this role.  Strong accountability, analytical, process, organizational and communication skills are essential.


Job Responsibilities             

  • Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 network support for a complex enterprise global network and security infrastructure service
  • Troubleshoot and identify sources of problems, working with equipment vendors, cloud providers and telecom providers to resolve and prevent issues.
  • Monitor and resolve service requests in accordance with priorities and  SLAs.
  • Lead network and security infrastructure maintenance activities, including coordination with other support teams on complex maintenance projects.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally across concurrent deployments with the ability to communicate details to the project teams and clearly communicate overall status to management
  • Create detailed design and technical deployment playbooks, training, and support documentation for new configurations and technologies.
  • Establish and enforce best practice processes for network management, including configurations, monitoring, patch management and security
  • Oversee hardware deployments for domestic and international initiatives
  • Oversee compliance with change control and release management processes


Job Qualifications                
  • Advanced Working knowledge of  LAN, WAN, and cloud network, firewall, DNS, Load Balancing, WAN Optimization and proxy environments, including VoIP and structured cabling in required. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, access control lists, and link-level and packet-level troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years multivendor network and security configuration and troubleshooting - routers, firewalls, proxies, vpn appliances
  • Strong interpersonal skills.   Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training and written documentation
  • Positive customer service and team attitude (helping others when required)
  • Focused on quality and developing processes to improve quality
  • Capable of owning complex network and security projects end-to-end
  • Experience working with infrastructure monitoring and automation
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites during large deployments, as needed.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours maintenance and on call rotation.


Preferred Skills                      
  • Cisco, Arista, HPE Aruba routers and switches (infrastructure, routing, VPN)
  • Palo Alto and Bluecoat firewall and proxy appliances, and AWS experience.
  • Riverbed Steelhead, Infoblox DNS, Citrix Netscaler load balancing a plus
  • Minimum CCNA mandatory.  CCNP or Palo Alto or AWS certification a plus.
  • A four-year undergraduate degree.  Master's degree a plus.
  • Fluent in reading and updating network designs
  • Scripting and automation skills a plus.
  • Advanced network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Adapting to new technologies quickly.
  • Fluent in creating technical documents and delivering training to peers.
