Analytical role working for a market leading alternative investment manager concerned with the investment of real assets and private equity investments. Role for the career minded.

The Opportunity:

  • This is a newly created opportunity working for a very highly regarded, innovative and market leading Private Equity / Real Asset investment management business
  • Within this role you will be working in a function that has a huge amount of exposure and support to a wide range of other internal functions / stakeholders, in particular the investment teams
  • Working within a small team, you will be focused on analysing the performance of the fund investments at an underlying company level and provide research and analysis for the investment professionals. This role is highly analytical
  • The relative performance of the underlying investments will be expressed in terms of cost multiple (MOIC ot TVPI) or IRR 
  • Using predominantly excel you will analysing large and complex data sets with a view to presenting your conclusions in a logical and interesting manner, in this way adding value to the front office teams
  • Assist with formal and ad-hoc projects

 

Your Experience:

  • You must be able to demonstrate a high level of intellectual rigour, with a strength in dealing with “numbers”
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Private Equity investing, financial accounting, statistics and economics
  • With your strong analytical skills, you will be able to evidence your problem solving skills
  • It is essential that you demonstrate a strong understanding of private equity related metrics and the investments, including (and not limited to):
    • Enterprise Value (EV)
    • EV to EBITDA ratio
    • Debt capitalisation
    • Net Debt multiples
    • Total Value to Paid in Multiple (TVPI)
    • Multiple on Invested Capital (MOIC)
    • IRR
    • Difference between primary / secondary and co-investments
  • Possess a high level of proficiency in excel (this will be tested and is essential) and be able to cut down large data sets through use of excel. More specifically you will be able to use formulas to pull out relevant data points
  • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal, and, be able to present them effectively in a highly professional manner
  • Completion of relevant professional qualifications would be useful including CAIA, the Certificate in Investment Performance, CFA (or level of it)
