Solution Architect - Digital Post-Trade Tech

As a best-in-class technologist you will be tasked with developing and leading the development of high fidelity and quality applications and sophisticated client interactions solutions for our corporate and investment banking clients. The technologist will ideally have experience in a financial services setting and have worked on applications targeting the ever more demanding needs of the sophisticated financial user.

Position Summary:

  • Lead project architecture and propose solution design for CIB Digital Post Trade use cases, spanning across the tech stack.
  • Create early-phase concept assessments and oversee project estimations that help leaders organize business cases for investment decisions
  • Systematically identify key capability investments across projects and propose optimized solutions that promote leverage and reuse across broader teams
  • Partner closely and build strong relationships with application development managers and business leaders for Digital Post Trade
  • Partner with AD leads to influence leverage and reuse opportunities
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of reference documentation of CIBs technology assets, including current state architecture, target architecture and roadmaps
  • Bring thought leadership & work collaboratively across the firm-wide CIO organization on innovation, improvement & efficiency programs.
  • Define technology direction, in the form of standards and principles, for area of expertise based on analysis, industry standards and previous experiences
  • Strategic initiatives that improves the effectiveness of the business unit
  • Set the strategy and direction for the team
  • Organizing the design and development of the program.
  • Detect and solve project issues effectively.
  • Acts as the communications conduit to executive sponsor; conducts regularly scheduled briefings/status updates.
  • Assist with the development of less experienced team members.


Required Skills and qualifications
  • Prior experience of management in a technology environment
  • Experience with leading technology applications used by financial services is desirable
  • Familiar with Industry and Industry-related developments such as MIFID, BREXIT, Financial Reform and responses from regulators and Industry participants & associations
  • Strong background working in and around operations/technology/projects and industry protocols
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Logical, structured approach to planning, problem solving and decision-making
  • Strong analytical, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Strong risk and controls awareness
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently; able to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
  • Ability to work under pressure and to fixed deadlines.

  • Listening and gathering customer/user inputs. Simplifying complex topics for non-technical audiences and preparing quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in working with Outside Service Providers/Vendors/Customers
  • Extensive experience at presenting proposals to key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies
  • Knowledge of UI technologies including React, OpenFin
  • Strong cross-team collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Experience creating a long term vision while execute on the vision in the short term.
