Technical Operations Manager - London

The Technical Operations team are responsible for providing outstanding technical support for a wide array of technologies. With a continually operating platform, the team requires a high level of flexibility to ensure that there is timely resolution to incidents and to ensure that the delivery schedule does not affect the platform at peak operations. Working closely with business operations and the delivery teams.

As the Technical Operations Manager you will be responsible for the overall availability of the technical platform and service delivery. You will have the opportunity to run a large team of skilled engineers with full management responsibilities, encouraging team happiness and providing career progression. You will be working closely with a variety of business teams, incorporating feedback into the continual improvement process and delivering on the technical changes required for outstanding operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 15 engineers with a broad range of skills and experience- 4 of which are team leads who will report directly into you
  • Ensure robust support structure for 24/7 business structure including resource management (rota’s)
  • Lead the technical incident / problem management process and ensure that remediation projects are delivered in full
  • Full accountability for the service delivery across the business, ensuring a continual service improvement programme is followed
  • Delivery of the technical projects aligned to the technical operations team
  • Be the technical escalation point for the team
  • Ensure that our technology services and projects are delivered in a secure way

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven ability to implement and run effective incident and problem management
  • processes to ensure continual improvement across the platform
  • Strong employee management practices, ideally experience managing a team of 5 or more, including hiring and performance management.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical competence in the full platform stack (Cloud,
  • Virtualisation, OS, Networking, Storage)
  • Strong organisation skills – people, projects, time management
  • Defining and implementing technological operational processes
