I have been given a business critical mandate by my client, one of the most recognisable names in global investment banking and financial services. They have made several strategic investments in internal Greenfield projects to build several industry leading platforms that will significantly improve their algorithmic trading capabilities, and as a result they are now recruiting for a Vice President, Equities and Algo Developer (Equities/Algo Trading/Algorithmic Trading/Platforms/Java/C++/Linux/Unix) to join the equities technology group.

This is a really exciting opportunity for a Vice President, Equities and Algo Developer (Equities/Algo Trading/Algorithmic Trading/Platforms/Java/C++/Linux/Unix) to help with the delivery of the next generation platform currently being built. The successful Vice President, Equities and Algo Developer (Equities/Algo Trading/Algorithmic Trading/Platforms/Java/C++/Linux/Unix) will have strong Java and C++ knowledge and fantastic experience in a similar role at an investment bank.

 

As the Vice President, Equities and Algo Developer (Equities/Algo Trading/Algorithmic Trading/Platforms/Java/C++/Linux/Unix), you will communicate with development teams, analysing and capturing requirements in order to develop algorithmic trading applications and components, in line with business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities as well as those outlined above:

 

  • Knowledge of full development lifecycle and agile practices
  • Establishing strong working relationships across different technology areas
  • Provide ongoing support after implementation, whilst working on new improvements and additional phases

 

Essential Skills:

 

  • Currently working within equities and algo trading in a similar environment
  • Very strong Java and C++ skills and experience
  • Demonstrable experience with Continuous Integration, automated delivery, design patterns and agile software development
  • Good experience with Linux/Unix
  • Excellent track record and experience gained within investment banking/financial services
