Transaction Advisory Services Director
Job Description Summary:
Our commitment to shaping a Vibrant Economy in the UK is seeing us think differently about almost everything. How we help business thrive. How we empower our people to achieve their full potential and how we make an impact that reaches further than ever before. Aims like these call for entrepreneurial and inspirational leadership. Which is where you come in. So bring your passion, ambition and ideas and together, let's make change happen.
Growing your business profitably against a tough economic backdrop is challenging and correctly evaluating and delivering transactions is a key part of a company's growth strategy. Our clients are dynamic and ambitious and to support their growth strategies increasingly require a comprehensive service offering throughout the entire cycle of any transactions they undertake. Job Description: The south region
The south region is a key growth area for Grant Thornton that encompasses our main offices in Cardiff, Bristol, Gatwick, Reading, Oxford and Southampton. We have recently realigned part of this region to create one Thames Valley and Southampton (TV&S) sub-region, which holds the 3 main offices in Reading, Oxford and Southampton. We have a growth focused leadership team here, working across a 300-person strong business unit and we have given ourselves a strong strategic foothold in a wide variety of clients and sectors. The role
As part of this growth we have successful Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team that work across the South region based out of Bristol and TVS offices and we now require a market facing TAS Director based in Reading in order to capitalise on the significant business opportunities that exist here. You will not only be part of a wider TAS team but also a TVS leadership team and have the autonomy and flexibility to build and develop the business in the Thames Valley in particular.
The team works with a diverse range of clients from international PLCs to fast growing entrepreneurial owner managed businesses across a broad range of industries. The team is also closely integrated with the wider Grant Thornton firm and is at the leading edge of continuing to develop the firm's market presence, playing a key role in initiatives such as the "Vibrant Economy" agenda, which is seeking to heavily differentiate the firm in the market. Who we're looking for
You'll have a genuine interest in our clients. We want to provide a distinctive service and unlock potential for growth in dynamic organisations.
You'll know that what you do matters. As an organisation we want to be known for how we do business, not simply what we do. So, we need people who know that every act matters from the simple things to the insights we bring to clients.
You'll seize opportunities. We want to adapt quickly and wisely to changing conditions to optimise growth for both our clients and ourselves.
You'll apply critical reasoning to bring clarity and insight. We do it by asking great questions, listening and drawing on our collective knowledge and experience to really help others grow. Education, experience and qualifications
The time you spend outside of work helps shape what you can bring to our firm. We value the commitments you may have outside of work and will consider all flexible working applications.
- You'll be a well-rounded TAS leader with multiple sector experience, especially working with mid-market to upper mid-market clients
- You'll be an expert in due diligence on both the buy and sell-side of a transaction for corporates and Private Equity
- You'll hold a number of relationships with mid-market and/or upper mid-market Private Equity houses and/or acquisitive corporates
- You'll have demonstrable evidence of entering a market and generating business and ideally, but not critically, hands on experience or knowledge of the TVS region, especially the Thames Valley
- You'll be able to demonstrate both the potential and aspirations to develop into a future Partner of the firm
