The Head of Business Unit Expenses will be responsible for overseeing the provision of high quality Expense analysis, insight and decision support to the Group Expense Controller and Business Unit stakeholders to help achieve the Group’s and the Business Unit’s objectives and strategy.

About the role

The key responsibilities for this role are to be:

  • Responsibility for management of the Business Unit Expense team
  • A commercial partner to Business Unit CFO’s and other business stakeholders focused on Expenses
  • Oversee the production of high quality management information which assist Business Unit Finance teams understand their expense position
  • Key role in the annual business planning and forecasting cycles, working closely with Business Unit CFOs to ensure submissions are robust, timely and in line with Group expectations
  • Partnering with the Business Unit CFOs to assist and monitor progress towards Optimisation targets

About you

We are looking for an individual with the following knowledge, skills and experiences:

  • Prior Expense Management, Business Partnering and Commercial Finance experience is a pre-requisite
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management capability
  • Ability to interrogate systems and navigate complex infrastructure and organisation
  • Strong people leadership and change skills
  • Familiarity with working with multiple stakeholders and to tight timescales in a delivery focused fashion
  • Experience of working in a highly results-orientated, growth and performance driven environment, with a focus on excellence
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering on time and quality
  • Experience in data visualisation for expenses
  • Qualified Accountant qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent qualifications
