The Role of Finance Manager

Reporting initially to the Director of Finance Change, the Finance Manager role (Oracle, GL & EBPCS) will be core to the Finance Oracle Centre of Excellence project. The role will be responsible for maintaining the Finance infrastructure, open/close ledgers, design and publish new reports, add cost centres among others.

The Hiscox finance function is undergoing a significant, multi-year change programme which will transform it into a world class function over a 3-year period. This is an exciting time to join the team and be part of shaping the future to ensure Hiscox finance is set up to help deliver the next phase of growth in the UK business.

The role holder will potentially lead a team of 1 -2 Financial Systems Analysts as the business grows and as the transformation programme allows the Finance team to rebalance its focus further towards business partnering and analysis activities.

 

What you will be doing

  • Partner with Internal Project Team and External Consultants as we implement Oracle Cloud Applications across Hiscox's Global Finance Operations.

  • Manage Oracle tools in support of Finance function; including form updates, UAT, process development and documentation, standard report development, chart of account maintenance, etc.

  • Lead the EPBCS based Forecast, Budget, and Long Range Plan Process from a systems perspective, including - Establishing timelines, developing and updating standard forms, managing versions, and providing EPBCS advice and support to global finance team.

  • Administer EPBCS Data by liaising with the Group Information Technology team to insure completeness and accuracy of integrations and ongoing data transfers.

  • Establish best practices and supper user community training on Oracle Report development and Smartview

  • Manage and develop a team of 1-2 Financial Systems Analysts

  • SME on all matters Finance Oracle systems

Our must haves

  • Fully qualified accountant with ideally 10+ years' experience. However, those with the right level of experience but with 'less years' will naturally be considered

  • Financial Planning & Analysis Experience

  • Experience as a Finance user of Oracle & Hyperion Products

  • Experience as a Finance Systems Administrator / finance systems expert

  • Advanced / Expert User of Excel

  • Bachelor of Science - Finance, Accounting or relevant Business degree
