A leading technology and consulting organisation is looking for an experienced OT Cyber Security Consultant to join its growing Digital & Data community.

The successful candidate will work alongside consultants, engineers, product specialists, designers and other technical experts to help organisations address complex cybersecurity challenges across Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and critical national infrastructure.

This is an opportunity for an OT security professional to work across a diverse range of client projects, technologies and industries, applying cybersecurity expertise to environments where the security, availability and resilience of industrial systems are critical.

The Role

As an OT Cyber Security Consultant, the successful candidate will:

• Work with clients to identify and address complex OT and industrial cybersecurity challenges.
• Provide cybersecurity expertise across Operational Technology, Industrial Control Systems and industrial applications.
• Apply security principles across the design, operation and monitoring of industrial environments.
• Support clients with OT security risk management, architecture and security monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with technical, engineering, product, design and business stakeholders.
• Apply cybersecurity knowledge to complex real-world environments across critical infrastructure.
• Work using agile and collaborative approaches across multidisciplinary teams.
• Use technical expertise to understand client challenges and develop practical cybersecurity solutions.
• Contribute to projects across a broad range of technologies, industries and client environments.
• Continue developing technical expertise through exposure to new technologies, projects and specialist knowledge.

OT & Industrial Cyber Security Experience

The organisation is looking for candidates with experience in the security management of industrial control and Operational Technology systems and applications.

Relevant experience may include:

• Process control systems
• SCADA
• Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
• PLCs and RTUs
• Industrial cybersecurity and data communications
• Electricity transmission and distribution network control
• IoT and Industrial IoT (IIoT)
• Industrial cyber security risk management
• OT security architecture
• Industrial security monitoring

Candidates should understand the specific security challenges associated with environments where availability, safety, resilience and operational continuity are critical.

Critical Infrastructure Experience

Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be highly relevant:

• Electricity generation, transmission and distribution
• Distributed energy
• Smart energy and metering
• Oil and gas
• Water
• Civil Nuclear
• Transport, including:
• Aviation
• Rail
• Maritime
• Road
• Autonomous vehicles
• Wider critical infrastructure

The role would particularly suit professionals who have worked directly with industrial environments and understand how cybersecurity requirements need to be applied within operationally critical systems.

Security Standards & Frameworks

Experience working with relevant OT, industrial and cybersecurity standards is important.

This includes:

• NCSC NIS Guidance
• NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)
• ISO 27001
• ISO 27005
• NERC CIP
• ISA-99 / IEC 62443
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF)

The successful candidate should be comfortable applying security standards and frameworks to real-world OT and critical infrastructure environments.
