About the Role:

The Senior Financial Crime Analyst will play an integral role in LSM's Financial Crime risk management, including (but not limited to) Sanctions, Export Controls, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud, Bribery and Corruption (collectively, Financial Crime). The individual will work within LSM's Compliance function and will support the Financial Crime Specialists and members of the Compliance team on Financial Crime related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Financial Crime Specialists and the Compliance function in providing appropriate, timely and strategic Financial Crime advice to the business in a clear, effective, and efficient manner.
• Undertaking sanctions checks including detailed and strategic assessments of the application of applicable sanctions regimes and relevant export control measures to specific coverages.
• Conduct robust Financial Crime due diligence for new business opportunities and renewal business.
• Assisting the Financial Crime Specialists with conducting strategic reviews of internal frameworks relevant to financial crime systems and controls.
• Assisting the Financial Crime Specialists with reviewing, and updating, Financial Crime Policies and Procedures on at least an annual basis or more often to reflect regulatory or legislative amendments.
• Supporting the Financial Crime Specialists with collating information required for legal / regulatory reporting

Financial Crime Monitoring and Reporting
• Participating in day-to-day financial crime monitoring activities to provide assurance that all business activity is conducted consistently in line with LSM Financial Crime Compliance policies and procedures.
• Identifying and escalating any process breaches in a timely manner.
• Contributing to the creation of quarterly Financial Crime MI and reports for Boards and Committees.

Financial Crime Training and Support
• Act as a key reference point for business stakeholders for all Financial Crime related matters and queries.
• Develop strong and commercially responsive relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Assisting the Financial Crime Specialists in the delivery of an effective and appropriately tailored LSM Compliance financial crime training programme both business-facing, and to members of the Compliance team.
• Proactively identifying stakeholders who would benefit from Financial Crime training and support.
• Supporting the Compliance Business Partner with Financial Crime Horizon Scanning.
• Supporting the Compliance Business Partner in reviewing and/ or coordinating communications to the business regarding sanctions and/ or relevant export control developments.

Change and Transformation
• Work with a continuous improvement mindset. Raise tactical and strategic initiatives to make things better.
• Work with Risk and Compliance Transformation and Change team to support the delivery of strategic Financial Crime process improvements, including new technology solutions.
• Support transitions of work to improve processes.
• Keep abreast of and understand the impact of Financial Crime regulatory and legislative updates that could impact LSM's business operations.
• Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing

Skills and Experience:
• A good understanding of global sanctions regulation as well as wider financial crime laws and regulations with experience in applying them across a variety of Insurance product types.
• An understanding of a financial crime risk management framework to mitigate financial crime risks faced by the business and meet regulatory and legal expectations.
• Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and audience-sensitive way both verbally and in writing.
• Relevant insurance experience, preferably within the London/ Lloyd's market.
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Ability to demonstrate and evidence the use of analytical skills to support decision making.
• Agile and adaptable, able to respond to changing priorities and business needs.
• First class people skills and a team player.
• Ability to challenge and be challenged.
• Proven track record of solving problems and delivering solutions to the business.
• Ability to listen, be flexible, but decisive.
• Pragmatic and principled, not dogmatic.
