Assistant Vice President - Markets (Cash Trading - Systems & Analytics)
Job Responsibilities: Cash Trading is an integral part of HKEX's Markets Division and is responsible for managing the business and operations of the trading of securities market products. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support Cash Trading's various market development initiatives and such as market microstructure enhancements for improving market quality and revenue generation.
- To lead or engage in project management activities (including planning, analysis on business requirements and testing) to ensure smooth implementation of Cash Trading-related initiatives and business projects
- To perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis on trading trends and patterns, and interpret data with a clear objective in mind
- To define and create test cases for User Acceptance Test (UAT) of trading systems supporting the Hong Kong and Stock Connect markets
- To oversee the UAT process and manage a team of testers to conduct UAT through the use of manual and automated testing tools
- To collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including other business departments, IT, market participants and relevant regulators on Cash Trading initiatives
Job Requirements: - A university degree from a reputable institution, preferably in Finance / Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics or related subjects
- Excellent business acumen, numeric and logical thinker with strong problem solving skills
- A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, is inquisitive, attentive to details and self-motivated
- At least 6 years of solid work experience, preferably in the financial industry
- Strong analytical skills on handling large datasets
- Experience in managing projects and conversant with technology, preferably with some knowledge in computer programming or statistical analysis such as VBA, SQL or Python
- Good exposure to a wide variety of securities and derivatives products is an advantage
- Hands-on experience in industry wide systems (e.g. Bloomberg, SMARTS) and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for the role of Associate
