A leading activist organisation is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to oversee their Global Operations. This position can be based in any major hub in East and Southeast Asia. As a member of the Strategy and Management team, reporting directly to the Global Executive Director, the CTO will actively contribute to the development and delivery of their overarching global technology strategy. You will work with both national and regional offices to drive a coordinated strategy across the global network.

Responsibilities:

Strategy: Ensure the development and execution of integrated stategies, including the creation of a strategic technology and data framework, which will clarify long-term objectives and priorities for the product development.

Collaboration and Infrastructure: Responsible for the design and implementation of a process to strengthen collaboration on global technology projects between federated offices across different nations and regions. Ensuring that all systems are selected in a transparent, participatory process that invovles members of the community.

Leadership and Management: Drive collaboration across various departments and countries to support effective design and delivery of technology projects to meet organisational needs.

Innovation: Be the thought leader for the global network and drive important conversations about the impact of technology on the ecosystem and organisation. Constantly review and research the latest technology trends and thoroughly understand the impact of changing technology landscapes.

Resources and Investments: The CTO will oversee technology and data investments - across all units - and ensure that these are co-ordinated and prioritised as needed. Track, monitor and analyse technology performance metrics and effectively communicate findings with the executive board.

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with peers, board members and subordinates within as well as outside of the organisation. This would include commercial vendors, academic institutions and other outside partners.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • An ambitious and proactive leader with 10+ years of relevant working experience, at least 5 years in a strategic leadership position with a global enterprise.
  • A track record of leading diverse teams to implement ambitious change in the technology field.
  • Broad understanding of technology trends and an ability to communication these to non-technical stakeholders and audiences.
  • Direct experience with implementing software solutions
  • Proven success managing nimble and service-driven product development teams
  • Experience managing limited resources and budgets to meet the needs of complex stakeholders.
  • Ability to build strong and trusting relationships and networks with people and teams at different levels in a distributed setting.
  • Demonstrate a history of managing a diverse and inclusive working environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when needed.
