- Thematic Scouting: Identify early-stage startups in AI infrastructure, generative AI applications, quantum computing, robotics, and biotechnology, across both China and overseas
- Founder Networking: Build deep relationships with university labs, tech incubators, and serial entrepreneurs to secure allocation in competitive rounds.
- Inbound Screening: Review incoming pitch decks and filter companies that fit the fund's USD mandate and stage focus (typically Series A or B).
- Technical Validation: Evaluate proprietary tech, algorithmic defensibility, data moats, and compute infrastructure scalability.
- Commercial Assessment: Analyze product-market fit, unit economics, customer churn, and total addressable market (TAM).
- Financial Modeling: Oversee associates in building valuation models, capitalization table (cap table) simulations, and return analyses.
- Expert Networks: Coordinate with external technical advisors, academics, and industry experts to validate complex cutting-edge science.
- Investment Memos: Author comprehensive investment recommendations and pitch the opportunity to the Investment Committee (IC).
- Term Sheet Negotiation: Draft and negotiate investment terms, including valuation, governance rights, and liquidation preferences.
- Legal Coordination: Manage legal counsel through the closing process, ensuring compliance with cross-border USD fund regulations (e.g., CFIUS considerations for deep tech).
- Board Representation: Serve as a board observer or director to guide startup strategy, hiring, and scaling.
- Commercial Acceleration: Connect portfolio companies with enterprise buyers, cloud providers (for compute credits), and strategic partners.
- Subsequent Fundraising: Help founders structure and pitch their next funding rounds (Series B/C) to growth-stage USD funds.
- Bachelor's degree with a major in STEM
- A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience gained from reputable venture capital with exposure in AI or cutting-edge technology sector
- Fluent Mandarin and English
