The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.


Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.


Are you a quick-thinking self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who has a desire to work in our Private Bank?  We are seeking Regional Lending Managers (RLMs) who can help support the expansion of our Global Private Bank’s lending platform into the third party marketplace. Our RLMs need to have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a desire to start something new are essential.


Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client’s particular risk tolerance, and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities.  PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.


The Global Private Bank offers traditional banking products (loans, mortgages, deposits) as well as margin financing to high net worth clients. The Private Bank is expanding its lending platform into the third party marketplace.  In this expansion, the Private Bank will initially offer Securities Base Loans (SBLs) to affluent clients of third party broker dealers using a state of the art web platform, and leveraging both field based lenders and a centrally located service and support team.  GS Private Bank is well-positioned to extend the lending capabilities of the Private Bank to clients of third party Broker/Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and asset custodians, collectively Advisors. 

The Regional Lending Managers will be responsible for the distributed lending activity of the GS Private Bank within their regional coverage area.  Responsibilities include loan origination and management, portfolio support/service including call and pre-call maintenance, and all regional sales, marketing, and educational activities of covered wealth management offices, financial advisors, and registered independent advisors.    


  • Develop new loan origination from multiple third-party institutional and registered independent advisor client referrals to GS Private Bank to achieve new loan notional and unit goals, as well as revenue generation and return targets within an assigned Region
  • Work with GS Private Bank sales management to develop and implement sales plans with specific sales goals for each covered institution
  • Maintain frequent activity and interaction with covered broker-dealer offices, branch office managers, financial advisors, and registered independent advisors to ensure appropriate level of market visibility, product and solution awareness, and client engagement in support of overall business objectives
  • Establish a reputation as a subject matter expert within assigned Region
  • Advise clients on appropriate credit solutions and options available, and negotiate structure and price where applicable
  • Strengthen the quantity and quality of deal flow by providing on-going training to educate financial advisors on product platform and automated desk-top applications and resources
  • Manage high velocity of deal flow of referred transactions from initial inquiry through funding, and consistently communicate progress to stakeholders and end-user clients in an effort to manage and exceed internal and external client expectations
  • Maintain disciplined approach to management of call maintenance requirements
  • Become a valued team member and establish strong working relationships with Lending Specialists and functional partners including Credit, Product, Operations, Compliance and Legal
  • Strict adherence to loan origination credit policy and procedures and compliance requirements, including Know Your Customer, with the accurate collection and completion of required documentation. Maintain proactive role in ensuring all loan conditions are satisfied
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Firm’s Business Principles and Client Service Values


Our Private Wealth Management business spans the globe, with the following locations in the United States: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Miami (Florida and Latin America coverage), Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C. and West Palm Beach   



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (US or equivalent); Advance degree preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience in private banking and/or commercial banking roles with specific focus on lending
  • Completion of a formal bank credit training program is strongly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of credit products, specifically securities based loans, and structured and commercial credit facilities
  • Experience in understanding the financial and borrowing needs of a wide range of clients and as part of a comprehensive wealth management strategy
  • Proven new business development and origination experience with credit products
  • Experience with origination within a broker-dealer environment and related channels strongly preferred
  • Collaborative, energetic, enthusiastic, and a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to independently manage regional day-to-day activities and build the relationships required to be successful in the role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering exemplary client service
  • Client-centric with an inherent sense of urgency
  • Exceptional consulting skills; ability to probe and listen to help clarify inquiries, and gather and present data to advance transactions
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills; ability to generate support and build consensus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and meet expectations of clients
  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 50% or more.  Role requires the geographic coverage of a region and will encompass extensive external marketing including institutional client, financial advisor, and registered investment advisor office visits and client meetings
