The Investment Services Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will own development and execution of the financial strategy for State Streets Investment Services businesses which include: Global Services, Global Markets, Global Exchange, Charles River Development (CRD), Global Delivery and Global Technology Solutions. This individual will partner with senior business leaders including the State Street CEO and Management Committee (MC) members to ensure financial discipline and focus on key financial growth and productivity opportunities. This individual will also be the senior advisor to the State Street Corporation CFO as well as to various MC members and business line leaders.

The investment service business is our largest business unit at STT, comprising of >80% of our total earnings. It is global in nature and is comprised of many client segments and products. The investment services business is disclosed in our 10K segment reporting.

Specific responsibilities include defining and delivering the overall financial approach to Investment Services including planning and budgeting, financial forecasting, management reporting, pricing, and client profitability in partnership with the global Financial Planning & Analytics function. The Investment Services CFO will communicate and enforce the State Street wide business priorities to drive better financial results. This role will also drive improvement to standard financial analytics and management reporting.

The Investment Services CFO will directly report to the State Street Corporation CFO and will be a member of the Finance organizations senior management team and will manage a team of Senior Vice Presidents, Managing Directors and all employee levels. The Investment Services CFO will regularly participate in Management Committee routines, Controllers, FP&A, Investor Relations, Corporate and Business Strategy, and senior business leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the financial management for the Investment Services businesses: Global Services, Global Markets, Global Exchange, Charles River Development (CRD), Global Delivery and Global Technology Solutions
  • Manage Finance team of regional, client segment and operations CTEs, as well as various senior leader stakeholder relationships

    Directly reports to companys CFO, member of the senior management Finance team (e.g. other EVPs and SVPs,

    Business leaders and their directs globally

    Partnership with FP&A leaders required to bring financial discipline to the Investment Services business

    Provide executive management with independent view of financial outlook, associated risks and opportunities,

    Identify and quantify impact of risk-mitigating action plans

    Develop and execute the overall financial approach to Investment Services activities including planning and budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, pricing, and client profitability in partnership with FP&A

    Provide advice and guidance on an independent view of the Investment Services financial outlook to the CFO and executive management

  • As a key member of the Finance senior management team, responsible for providing input to the CFO and others to identify strategic risks opportunities and recommend courses of action

    Drive improvement to standard financial analytics and reporting and bring transparency to the financial statement

    QUALIFICATIONS

    We are seeking forward thinking, innovative leaders who have experience working in a finance and accounting organization. Strong experience in several of the following areas:

  • Broad Finance & Accounting leadership experience with 20+ years of experience, including business unit leadership experience. Financial Services experience preferred however all cross industry leaders are welcome
  • Management of geographically disperse Finance and Accounting teams
  • Extensive experience overseeing the business planning and budgeting process
  • Has overseen the management reporting process
  • Financial Planning & Analytics experience
  • Serves as a key advisor to the CFO, senior business leaders and Finance executives
  • Strong execution, collaboration and strategic skills
  • Champion of employee development and engagement
  • Proven and successful track record of implementing key financial and business priorities
