We're working with a fast-paced trading business looking to appoint an immediately available Financial Accountant to support the finance team through a busy period.

This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified accountant who enjoys owning the month-end process and producing accurate financial reporting in a commercial environment.

Key responsibilities:

1. Ownership of the month-end close process.
2. Preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory accounts.
3. Balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
4. Preparation of VAT returns and support with tax compliance.
5. Assist with the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
7. Support cash flow reporting and financial analysis.
8. Work closely with operational teams to resolve accounting queries.
9. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

About you:

1. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
2. Experience in a Financial Accountant role within financial services.
3. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting.
4. Comfortable managing month-end with minimal supervision.
5. Excellent Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
6. Proactive, organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
7. Immediately available or available at short notice.
