Key Accountabilities
Business Analysis Planning – 15%
- Perform requirements stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing individuals or groups and their requirements responsibilities
- Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates
- Manage risks, assumptions and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties
- Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities
- Review and validate the requirements approach with a Senior BA
Requirements Analysis and Documentation – 50%
- Facilitate collaborative sessions with small to medium number of business stakeholders to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
- Lead 1:1 elicitation sessions and apply various techniques to get a more in-depth understanding of the problem domain and prepare requirements drafts
- Analyze and document the scope of the business solution using industry-standard requirements techniques
- Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements, using enterprise requirements methodology
- Verify requirements for quality and validate requirements with the impacted stakeholders
- Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives, following enterprise standards
- Provide consulting services to business stakeholders such as:
- Assist in developing evaluation criteria of 3rd party vendors
- Assist in the evaluation of 3rd party vendor solutions and requirements
- Partner with 3rd party vendors to ensure that the vendor requirements documentation:
- Adheres to company's standards and/or structured and consumable by the project team
- Provides coverage of the scope requirements
- Integrates into requirements repositories for future reference and re-use
Requirements Management and Support – 20%
- Prepare requirements for review applying various communication techniques and lead requirements walkthrough and sign off sessions
- Conduct coverage analysis to ensure the relationship between scope, detailed requirements, testing through to implementation
- Follow standard change management processes based on the delivery methodologies
- Resolve conflicts/issues and escalate as required
- Support QA in development of the Functional System test cases and validate that test cases have full coverage of the critical requirements
- Support Design and Development activities by providing requirements clarifications
- Support UAT and PIV activities such as planning, defect triage, and root-cause analysis for requirements-related issues
- Support the development of end-user documentation and training
Leadership and Relationship Management – 15%
- Leverage areas of expertise to provide support to the more junior BAs
- Ensure overall deliverables quality and adherence to enterprise-standard methodologies
- Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and stakeholders
- Establish an environment of cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork among colleagues, business groups and Technology
- Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization and within the business analysis domain
Capabilities and Skills
- Working as a Business Analyst with progressively increasing responsibilities in the areas of requirements management in small to medium projects.
Education / certification requirements
- Relevant college, university, and/or post-graduate degree in Business Analysis
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute –Professional in Business Analysis (PMI – PBA) Certification (Preferred)
- Masters Certificate in Business Analysis (Preferred)
