CME Group is seeking an experienced QA tester to join the CME Engineering and Execution (E&E) team in Chicago. The successful candidate will work in the GCC Tools team, and deliver on projects that help test, validate and automate the application functions.

An understanding of trading functionality, underlying technology and the development, testing, and deployment lifecycle of the applications will be critical. The successful candidate will be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively.

Principal Accountabilities
• Assist QA Manager and QA Lead Analyst in identifying test scope, identifying project risks, and implementing process changes and efficiencies.
Work with team to understand requirements, convert features into concise, descriptive stories, provide input to estimation, test strategies & detailed test plans.
Participate in code reviews, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues and defects.
Apply expert knowledge of Testing techniques, methodologies, and tools to write automated tests and validate key services.
Investigate issues autonomously, reporting and tracking defects.

Essential Criteria
Bachelor's degree (with honours) or equivalent/better strongly preferred, but substantial relevant experience could substitute.
Ability to understand and absorb business & technology concepts quickly.
Prior experience working with BDD methodologies (Cucumber) and automated acceptance criteria.
SQL for analysis and data verification in back-end tables; successful experience testing commercial Linux apps; java app testing experience; Kafka messaging experience; experience working with UC4; programming knowledge for automation

Desirable Criteria
Experience of financial markets/exchange space and working with financial applications
Experience coding in a story-driven, agile environment
